Home is Where The ♥ Is

A few weekends in a row, we’ve been lucky to have a lot of family time at home in Kingston, which means a lot of food time too!

The Friday night, we went downtown K-town to Olivea (a little taste of Italy). The oysters were phenomenal and the pasta was truly delicious Italian. All of this paired with a bottle of Rosehall Run’s Solid Ground 2013 Riesling from Prince Edward County. http://www.olivea.ca/

Saturday, we got to attend our friend’s incredibly beautiful wedding on the beach in Wellington (near the county). This wedding not only boasted incredible food, but also local wines from the county. This wedding was truly wonderful! http://isaiahtubbs.com/

Home for Sunday night dinner with my mom. She had a long week and I really felt like cooking! She has been begging me to make caprese chicken for a while, so I finally delivered! Succulent garden tomatoes, fresh bocconcini, Kingston Olive Oil Co fig balsamic and over-roasted feta-stuffed portobello mushrooms. Sunday-yum-day!

In Bath, Eric’s mom had seafood paella, herbed biscuits and red wine sangria before our trip back to Ottawa.

Another Friday night cooking adventure. Horseradish crusted Irish salmon from Farm Boy, steamed cauliflower with mom’s homemade cheese sauce, herbed rice, and Farm Boy fresh bread, all paired with Kim Crawford’s Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough.
