Fresh From Scratch

Tonight, after a long day at work, I was craving something fresh and something homemade. I didn’t have much time, but I decided to make my own pasta sauce to go image1with my gluten-free linguine. Here’s a super easy recipe for a night you’re craving healthy and comforting!


  • 1 x 796mL can tomatoes
  • 1x 156mL can tomato paste
  • 1 whole red pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil
  • 1 tbsp cumin
  • 1 tbsp oregano
  • 1 tbsp freshly ground pepper
  • 1 tsp salt (if preferred)
  • 1 package of gluten-free linguine
  • 2 tsp goat cheese

Instructions: start boiling a large pot of water for the pasta. Using a food processor, blend basil, tomatoes, red pepper, and garlic and place mixture into a pot. Add tomato paste, pepper and salt. Bring to a boil and let simmer on low while the pasta is boiling. Top dish with goat cheese and more fresh basil.
