A Look Back At 2016

2016 was the year I really got into cooking and establishing FVS on Instagram and as a blog.

The summer was filled with sipping Chardonnay, BBQing anything and everything (especially corn on the cob and chicken), enjoying fresh, zesty fish from the market, and sitting outside on our patio with beers toasting to our move to Ottawa.

The fall consisted of Thanksgiving dinners and family get togethers that brought good memories to specific bottles of wine, birthday celebrations with local ciders, cinnamon and pumpkin-spiced desserts, breakfasts and lattes, some warmer, meatier meals and accomplishing a bucket list item- my first half marathon (through Prince Edward County)!

Finally, the winter approached and the J. Lohr came out pretty well immediately. November, we celebration our 10 year anniversary with fondu and Chateauneuf-du-Pape, followed by delectable desserts and champagne. December brought us hearty dinners, charcuterie boards galore, fuller-bodied wines, shopping for Christmas drinks/gifts by exploring the SAQ Cellier and LCBO Vintages, and a final toast to last year’s moments and a whole new year ahead!

Here’s a look back with some assorted photos from a fantastic 2016!

Cheers to a New Year of Recipes, Restaurants, Travel and Local Love ❤
