As a celebration for Eric’s 25th birthday, we did taco night with Beau’s lugtread Belgian style ale (YUM!), an oreo cheesecake from Rockaberry (where else, really?) for dessert and a beautiful bottle of spumante sparkling wine from Italy from Farnito (tasted like a Franciacorta- buttery and full) to toast the milestone.
We then travelled back home to Kingston for the ultimate celebration with our best friends. All the guys happen to have birthdays in April, so we did it up big.
We started at home with mom’s famous salmon Friday dinner with a bottle of Rosehall Run Chardonnay (Oaked) and a chocolate caramel pecan cake from Bread & Butter.
Saturday, we went to Casa Domenico for a beautiful dinner, then back for chocolate, peanut butter cupcakes, and the most beer necessary for a group of six. At Casa, I enjoyed the carpaccio paired with the Masciarelli 12′ Montepulciano D’Abruzzo. I then had the scarpetta paired with Woolshed Chardonnay. This place is my sanctuary. To wrap it up, brunch at Milestones. Yes, it’s a chain, but brunch is goooood. ‘Caprese’ eggs benny with homefries and a cappuccino to kick a small hangover- sure!
