A few weekends ago, we enjoyed a trip to St. Sauveur for our last bit of skiing (amazing Spring weather), some drinks, and some gourmet grub.
With the warm weather, we took advantage of some beautiful patio beers in Adirondack chairs and some red wine and classic ski hill poutine. Once it cooled down for the evening, we popped back into the lodge for an ‘apres ski’ brew and then headed out for that gourmet grub.
Le Saint Sau Pub Gourmand is heavenly. Three out of four of us had decided on table d’Hote, which was a great decision. They started us off with an ‘amuse-bouche’ of pea soup. I enjoyed a celeriac and apple salad with toasted, candied walnuts. My boyfriend started with the salmon mousse. For my entree, I chose the duck confit penne and paired it with a Malbec from Mendoza, Argentina. My boyfriend enjoyed the ‘pad thai’. For dessert, I tried something a little different- a pistachio ‘ice cream cake’. It’s frozen but has a sponge-like consistency. Eric had the famous chocolate cake with homemade peanut butter ice cream, in which they warn you, takes 10-15 minutes extra to bake. Yep- so worth the wait.
Great way to end the ski season!
