There was lots happening around Valentine’s Day— in the kitchen!
The in-laws were visiting and we had a beautiful weekend full of food, wine and sweet treats! I started the weekend off with a mushroom, cherry tomato, and pancetta quiche paired with Blanche de Chambly’s. We then hopped over to Modavie (our fave spot) for some dinner and jazz. I had steak frites and we shared a few bottles of 19 Crimes GSM from Australia. For dessert, I made chocolate covered strawberries and mini white chocolate raspberry cheesecakes and paired the goodness with Bernard Massard sparkling cuvee from Luxembourg and Borealis sparkling rose from Hinterland in Ontario. Breakfast on the real V-Day was filled with heart-shaped chocolate chip pancakes with mimosas and fresh strawberries and raspberries. Finally, for dinner (just the two of us), we went all out and devoured a swiss cheese fondu and ‘lovely’ caprese salads paired with Shingleback’s Red Knot Shiraz from McLaren Vale in Australia.
Much love from MTL. ♥
