Time to really mix it up. Not just dinners ahead, but breakfast ideas, more dessert, and some little party pleasers!
Wakey, Wakey! Eggs and Bakey!
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, no?
Why not have it all in an easy, delicious, savoury mouthful?
I took this recipe from Pinterest (classic) and made some little mini crustless quiches. You can add whatever you’d like in these. Next time, I’m actually adding bacon (or pancetta cubes). What I did add (cherry tomatoes, green onion, red pepper, spinach, mushroom and cheddar cheese) was great, but I always like a little bacon in my breaky.
All Hallow’s Eve
Rice Crispy Pumpkins!
I swear, I’m ready to be a mom apparently. These would be cute for a children’s Halloween party, or treats for them to bring to school- but us grown ups enjoy them too I guess. These are a party pleaser.
These were easier to form than squares and you can easily stick a mini Kit-Kat stick in the middle for the stem. I’ve also seen it done with a Reeses Peanut Butter mini cup. Add a green M&M for effect- and more chocolate. I added orange food colouring powder for the orange marshmallow/rice krispy mixture.
Bonne Fête Oma!
It was Oma’s birthday and we deiced nothing was more perfect than a traditional Quebec Sugar Pie birthday ‘cake’. Birthday pies are a thing right?
This was everything you could ask for and more. The idea behind sweet wines is to pair them with something equally as sweet, but when you’re eating a pie made of sugar, it’s better to enjoy this with a cappuccino topped with cinnamon.

5 Saison To The Rescue: Once Again!
I’m so thankful for this place.
As seen on my 5 Saisons Pour Chaque Saison post, you can buy the best meat and pre-prepped meals. We enjoyed some chicken legs and fire roasted vegetables. When I topped this with feta and a dash of balsamic, it brought me right back to Wooden Head’s in Kingston.
The next night, we enjoyed the left over vegetables and a baked maple, soya sauce-glazed, sesame seed salmon.
The World’s Ooey-Gooey-ist Chocolate Chip Cookies
Finally, I have found the right recipe to perfect the ooey-gooey soft chocolate chip cookie.
When I don’t feel like making a grand dessert, I whip these up in no time and they are always satisfying.
