Classic Moscow Mules

Say Merry Christmas with this delicious Moscow Mules recipe!

I love any excuse to make cocktails, especially if it’s to celebrate the holidays. I realized that I’ve had these mule mugs for a couple years now and hadn’t actually made the classic drink with them. I had also recently gone to the Moscow Tea Room in the Byward Market in Ottawa and enjoyed this drink for the first time and LOVED it.

I realize it’s already December 17th and that’s pretty close to Christmas already, but if your’e off of work now for the holidays, or you have a few more Christmas parties planned, serve this drink up and impress your crowd. It’s light, flavourful and packs a solid punch of alcohol.

Ingredients: 1/5 fluid oz vodka (I used Grey Goose), 1/2 fluid oz fresh lime juice, 1/2 cup ginger beer (I used Crabbies), ice cubes (lots), and a lime wedge for garnish

Instructions: using a martini shaker, combine the alcohol with some ice and the lime juice and shake vigourously. Pour over more ice. Serve garnished with a lime wedge in classic mule mugs.

This drink was the perfect touch to our evening of decorating the Christmas tree and listening to Christmas music.

Happy holiday drinking and stay tuned for a couple more holiday recipes in the coming days!
