Well, this was a fun night out: burgers, poutine and beer at Art: Brgr in the Plateau followed by dirty gin martinis at Bily Kun. This city never ceases to amaze me. One moment, you’re eating double your weight in meat and gravy, then you’re classily sipping on fine drinks with ostriches staring at you from the wall. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, please visit Bily Kun if you’re in the area, it has a great atmosphere and is unlike any bar I’ve ever been to.
Art: Brgr is a little hipster burger bar in the Plateau that sort of reminds me of the Works in Ontario, but wayyy more original. Eric’s aunt generously gifted us a groupon for this place which was a fun discovery. We definitely don’t get to the Plateau enough, and definitely don’t get to eat there enough.
The groupon came with a regular burger (lettuce, tomato, onion, two patties and crispy buns) with coleslaw, a poutine, and a beer (oh, and a chocolate lava cake to top it off). Featured below is my “wtf am I supposed to do with all this” face, because let’s face it, that’s a big ass burger.
I think I would opt for a chicken burger with avocado and pesto next time (looked intriguing), or even kill it with the ‘FatBoy’ (mac and cheese, bacon, caramelized onions) or even ‘Le Poutine Burger’. But, for the first time Art: Brgr eater, the original isn’t such a bad idea.
